Aronde 1 coffee table

Coffee table with rounded lines inspired by the wings of vintage cars.

The designer at Shohan-design had wanted to create a coffee table on castors based on a parallelogram shape for a long time. The problem was that he wanted a soft shape, and the folding technique he usually used did not meet his expectations.

It was when he remembered the rounded wings of his first car, a Peugeot 403, that he had the idea of bending the sheet metal to achieve his goal. The curves and rounded edges give this piece of furniture a soft, elegant style which, while modern, is reminiscent of the car bodies of the last century. Cars such as the Simca Aronde, which logically gave this piece its name. 

A practical piece of furniture with storage space and castors.

Practicality is one of Yvon Luneau's main objectives. He therefore thought about all the possible uses it could serve.

Coffee tables are often used to hold magazines, books, toys, remote controls, etc. Having storage space underneath is extremely useful for tidying everything away when you arrive with a meal tray or cups of coffee. The Aronde table, with its large capacity, meets this need. 

Coffee tables often have legs. And when you need to vacuum, moving them is not always easy. The Aronde table has castors that can be locked as desired. No effort is required to move it! 

Cut-out pattern and colours on request.

The shape and proportions are not always enough to make a piece of furniture aesthetically pleasing. Adding a pattern and/or playing with colours can make it unique and humanise it.

A floral pattern has been added to the white model in the photo. It has been cut out just on one corner to avoid any impression of symmetry and monotony.

Monochrome, internal and external two-tone and pattern creation: laser cutting and oven-baked paint offer a wide range of aesthetic possibilities.
