A cross between art and decoration, Orage d'été is a painting that invites contemplation. There are 25 numbered copies of this work.
Part of the Haute Découpe collection, the Orage d'été wall light combines nature and modernity, minimalism and expressiveness to enhance your interior design.
Our lives are intense, busy and sometimes even stressful. So when we come home, it's nice to find ourselves in a calm, comforting and Zen atmosphere..
Having decorative objects that are beautiful and relaxing to look at becomes a necessity.
This theme, the duck flying over a pond in the reeds, was first designed for the Envol trivet in 2014. It was inspired by a passion and admiration that the Shohan-design designer has. A passion for nature, in particular for the lakes, ponds and rivers where he fished in his youth and where he likes to sit and contemplate. An admiration for Asian painting, and more particularly Japanese prints, which express the beauty of innocuous scenes in nature with an economy of lines.
From the trivet to the decorative laser-cut metal wall panel.
The Envol trivet has been a great success since its launch. It was a customer who saw its decorative potential on a larger scale. She ordered Envol as a backlit rectangular panel. The result was very pleasing, particularly because the hand-brushed stainless steel creates material effects that give an impression of fog and depth to the picture.
Breaking free from the frame
Yvon Luneau, the designer, wasn't entirely satisfied, however. The square or rectangular formats of the paintings enclose their subject. A fresco, for example, can be displayed more freely on a wall. The advantage of laser-cutting metal is that it can do away with the frame. So why not explode it to give it more freedom and depth?
To do this, it's a cloud that opens the frame. More precisely, a cumulonimbus, the storm clouds that fascinated our artist as a child in the south of France. Clouds that, as chance would have it, we find magnified in certain Japanese mangas or animated films, notably those by Makoto Shinkai.
A wall light that breaks away from decorative styles.
Because of its subject, its sobriety and its material, summer Storm is a work that can find its place in a variety of interiors, whether contemporary, ‘country’ or classic. All the more so as brushed stainless steel has the advantage of adapting to the lighting ambience of the setting.
