As a wall decoration, a graphic and raw work to highlight the world of thrillers.
A limited edition of 20.
A collaboration between artist Plume BATTISTI and designer Yvon LUNEAU.
‘Roman noir’ is a work freely inspired by American cinema from the 40s to the 60s. Its graphic style is somewhere between ‘The Maltese Falcon’, considered to be the first film of the noir genre, and a Frank Miller comic strip. It was presented in 2018 at the Paris Polar festival, where it was noticed. The first copy was bought there directly by a fan of noir and detective literature.
The cutting of the design can be highlighted by the installation of an optional backlight. But above all, the acid patina on the steel made this wall light a remarkable decorative object. The raw, grungy look accentuates the object's detective story style. It's like the underworld, dark, damp alleyways or the barrel of a gun.
Applying the patina takes time and a certain amount of skill to achieve the right look. It is done in several stages, sometimes with unexpected results. But the result is a unique piece every time. That's why this model is available in a limited edition of 20 signed and numbered pieces.
Optional backlighting system.
The Roman noir wall lamp is available either bare or fitted. For the fitted version, SHOHAN-design has chosen a new-generation low-energy consumption system supplied by the equipment manufacturer Girard-Sudron, a company selected for the quality of its products.
The metal part is made in EEC. The patina is produced in our workshop in Malakoff, just outside Paris.
